Had no idea it was this messy of a process. And I make sure I don't turn on the polisher until the pad is in contact with paint, and don't lift it off until its off and stops rotating, but it still leaves a mess. helps, but i mean, tiny micro splatter drops get EVERYWHERE. What a MESS! Taping off windows, trims, etc. I just wanted to pass along some observations about the cutting/polishing process that i didn't expect / found interesting that they don't seem to tell you in the detailing videos i viewed on the subject:ġ) Using a DA random orbital polisher with any liquid compound leaves a splatter extravaganza ALL over the car. since this was my first time doing paint correction, i learned a lot. What is the most aggressive pad and cutting compound you've safely used on your BMW to remove the most stubborn scratches? they are randomly scattered all over the hood. The problem is that there are not only 2. The scratches are similar to the ones from the Junkman's video where he cleans up the Lambo Murcielago, but maybe not as deep as those (but close). If this doesn't work, any other suggestions short of wet sanding? I'd have to wet sand the entire hood because these scratches are all over the hood and i'm not sure i want to go there quite yet. Funny thing is that these scratches are only on the hood and no where else on the car (i am not original owner). I'm hoping this will take care of the scratches which are randomly distributed ALL over the hood. I've ordered a sample of Chemical Guys V32 and will be trying to use that with the yellow or purple pad next. I'm not sure what cutting compound is more aggressive than M105. The most aggressive pad out there that i know of is the LC yellow cutting pad or the LC purple wool pad. I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I noticed even 6 passes with the orange pad/M105, i can still see some traces of water spots/swirls (not much though). This is my first BMW, but it appears that BMW uses rather hard paint that can take quite a bit of beating. Now that the swirls have been removed, leaving behind a glossy glow, it makes these long straight scratches even more pronounced and noticeable. I had not noticed them before i started, and i'm suspecting the swirl marks just masked them. Easy application - no buffing required. This weekend i completed a 2-step cutting/polish detail on my 328i using a HF DA random orbital, starting with an orange cutting pad with M105, then a polishing pad with M205.Īll the swirl marks and water spots were removed, but what was left behind was a series of straight-up long nasty scratches.Protects paint from dirt, oil, UV rays, and moisture.Advanced polymer film technology outlasts other spray sealants.Modern waxes and sealants can protect your vehicle's finish for months and months but that doesn't mean your vehicle will have the same stunning shine it had when it was freshly "waxed." Repeated washings and exposure to the environment diminishes shine over time. Use it over waxes or paint sealants to maintain a fresh, clean shine all the time! Each bottle of BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Polymer Spray is packed with Wet Diamond polymers making this an excellent stand-alone sealant as well!Īll waxes and sealants exhibit a characteristic called softening of the shine that occurs over time. This spray-on paint sealant contains light cleaners to remove dust and smudges while reinforcing and extending existing paint protection. BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Polymer Spray 20oz BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Polymer Spray creates a long lasting shine with a high concentration of BLACKFIRE’s amazing tri-polymer Wet Diamond polymers.
